Loving the weather

these last couple days!! We decided to take Alaina to the park for the first time both days! We also went for walks twice both days lol Here's some pics on the swings for the first time and playing in the park. She didn't know what to think of the swing at first and then loved it, the second day she is having a blast ~ you will see in the video :)

We would just like to thank my nan, mom, sister and Lea, Uncle Gary and Aunt Theresa, and Pat for helping me with all the food and decorations for Alaina's baptism. It was such a great help and very much appreciated!!! I would also like to thank all of our friends and family for coming and all the lovely, thoughtful gifts!! Thanks also to jackie for taking pictures and lending Alaina and I both clothes :)

Alaina's Baptism

Well the Big day finally came! I have been planning for almost a month! Brandon thought I was crazy :) Let me paint a picture for you......
I was worrying the whole time, would I have enough food for after, where should I hold the luncheon?? It was going to be Alaina's nap time during the baptism, will she be cranky the whole time?? Will she cry during the whole service?? What food to serve, the cake? What to wear?
Finally I decided to have it at the legion and I would bring her playpen to put her down if needed.....but she's not use to her playpen anymore, so yesterday she napped in it in our room to get acquainted. She did fine, one less thing to worry about. I decided to go with a cupcake cake and all finger foods. I thought back to my showers and how much was left over, and planned from there.
It was the day before and we were preparing the food at the legion. I had forgotten about alot of little things, cream for the coffee, ice, etc. Good thing for family!!! Thanks ALOT again Aunt Theresa and Uncle Gary!! I got home about 9pm and I had to iron and pack Alaina's cooler bag. Finally it was time to relax and go to bed. Well didn't Alaina decide to wake up 3 times and the last time she was up for 2 hours dozing off and on! I was thinking great, just what I was worrying about, should be interesting tomorrow :(
Now it's Sunday morning and we are heading to the church and Alaina is looking pretty tired! Well she was the perfect little angel and I was SO PROUD!! She was good during the whole service and baptism (almost and hour and a half). She wimpered a little bit when he was soaking her head, but what kid wouldn't! We had to towel her off after lol. Everyone commented on how good she was and asked if she is always like that, made me feel soo good as a mom! Now we are at the legion and I set Alaina up with her lunch and ate along with her. She giggled and smiled at everyone and ended up staying awake and being good the whole time!! It turned out to be perfect, very few leftovers, most things were cleaned right up!! She snuggled at the end with Auntie Hope (Godmom) and almost gave into the sleep fairy. We got home at about 2:30pm and she went straight to bed! She's still sleeping, I'm relaxing by posting and bragging about my perfect baby :) and Brandon is playing road hockey with the neighbour boys. Perfect end to a perfect day! You will notice Alaina isn't smiling in most pics, she was just too tired or distracted :( Enjoy anyway

Been Busy

I've been busy planning Alaina's baptism for this sunday, I haven't been on to post or do her photos. Today I decided you needed an update! She hasn't been up to too much different, just mastering her standing unsupported, getting into everything and imitating mommy and daddy. The other day I was holding her in my arms and dancing with her. I put her down and held her hands and danced some more, I decided to get down on my knees to be more at her height to dance and she got right down on her knees!! It was soo stinkin cute :) What's not so cute is when she tries to stand up on something she shouldn't and I tell her no, and move her and she looks at me and gives me her mad cry and then tries to do it again! But other than that, everything she does is cute lol

posting this picture! This was Alaina today for her morning nap. I went to check on her before I hopped in the shower and had to run downstairs and grab the camera! It must be more comfortable then it looks cause she was still like that after my shower. Silly kid lol

Up to No good!

Well Alaina is learning alot and I don't know where she is learning it from! The one day, Brandon left the door open at the bottom of the stairs when he ran up and before I knew it she had climbed the first step! So I went behind her and she zoomed up 8 stairs to see daddy! I'm glad we have that door at the bottom of the stairs! Then today, I put her down for her morning nap and she was playing for a bit. Then she started screaming, so I went up to check her (she stands and can't always get back down) when I got to the top of the stairs I could see into her room and her suckie was on the floor at the end of her crib. I walked into her room and there she was sitting at the end with her leg dangling out, stuck up to her hip! I think she was trying to escape to get her suckie! When I called Brandon to tell him, he said she did that the other day too! She had her crib toy riped down and all her blankets thrown around. Times like that I wish I had the camera, I might have to purchase another one just for her bedroom! I call her our little roughian. She is reaching for everything, especially in the office around the computer. She stands on her walker (the plastic over the wheels) and tries to reach for the mouse. Quite the explorer.

Caught in Action

Well here's a video of Alaina taking her short cut. She's getting quick! She's making funny faces now too, you can see all her teeth :) She's in that stage of testing us, what does no mean really and should I listen!? She laughs like it's a big joke, like when I give her trouble for biting me! (of course daddy laughs with her!) Hopefully all her new toys from her Coles' cousins will keep her more occupied ~ THANKS A BUNCH!! It's soo cute to watch them with her, so concerned about their little baby girl cousin ~ she's the first girl on that side, everytime she cried or did her little but LOUD scream, they would ask, is she ok, what's the matter? Soo sweet.

Crazy Kid!

Well Alaina had her 8 month appt. today. She weighs 14 lbs 13oz and is 27 1/4" long. She gained over a pound the last month, he was very impressed and I was surprised and happy! She's moving faster everyday and more fearless!!! She decided she needed to take a short cut to see me so she climbed onto the basket and up onto the ottoman and crawled across it to me!! Of course daddy was there to catch her, we were eating our dinner so couldn't get the camera in time! Did I mention she's a little monkey!? lol She clapped yesterday for the first time too and has mastered waving.

Cruising

So Alaina started to walk around the ottoman slowly last week! She is doing new things soo fast these days. She can pull herself up on pretty much anything now. She's saying Ma Ma and Da Da alot too. We had to put child locks on the cupboards this weekend, when she's in her walker in the kitchen she opens them up! She just amazes me everyday. WOW

Alaina now has 6 teeth! I found two more on top! So many changes, so fast. She has started to climb onto the basket now, look at the cute pics of her digging in her toy bucket. She is also pulling herself up standing in her crib too! What a monkey! lol We've got her waving bye bye, but only when she wants to :P She's getting really close to clapping, she brings her hands together and waves them up and down, it's too cute. She can say Da Da a little bit too, of course only when she wants to. I started giving her some finger food puffs to eat, she knew right away what to do with them! Such a big girl :)

Soo Cute

Well my little angel now has 4 teeth! Her top two have poked through at the same time this past week. She wants to stand all the time too, she gets up on all fours, her feet instead of her knees, trying to figure out what to do with her arms when she's in the middle of the floor, it's soo funny. If something is in reach, she's standing next to it, anything she can wrap her fingers around. I have the baby gate out and ready for Brandon to help me install it, she just wants to go everywhere, it's hard for me to get a bite to eat! Well I just wanted to share a couple of cute pics I got of her the last couple days ~ who could resist this little girl?? I know I can't :)

Oh Boy

Alaina is into everything! She has mastered crawling and climbing up on things overnight, and I'm not exaggerating! One day she is crawling about 4 steps, the next day she is exploring the whole house! One day she pulled up on her toy box and two days later she is pulling up on everything into the standing position!! She's a little monkey :) We have started to babyproof a little now, she reaches for everything insight, she started showing interest in our electrical outlets! :( Now the bruises and scrapes begin, she got her first scrape on Sunday. She was climbing up on the basket, lost her grip and scraped the side of her head, she looked like she had stair steps cut into her hair lol. Of course I had to document her first mobile induced injury, good thing she's a toughy :) Here's a couple pics and a video to give you an idea!

Let It Snow!!

Well we took Alaina out in the snow for the first time yesterday. We were just getting the tube blown up when our neighbours came out with a wooden sled for us to use that they used when their kids were younger. Daddy pulled her around the yard and then I decided I wanted to take her to the hill around the corner that all the kids toboggan down. I even did when I was younger, doesn't seem as big now though! :) She seemed to like it, she has her first cold right now so I don't know how much she enjoyed being in the cold but I thought we could all use a bit of fresh air. So I took her down once on the magic carpet with me (the tube had a big rip) and then when I thought we were leaving, daddy decided to run down the hill pulling her in the sled!! I had a heart attack and yelled! We definitely went straight home after that.

Look Out Alaina....

Here comes Tiernan! lol We went to visit Chan and boys this past Thursday while they were visiting Chan's family. Tiernan seemed to really like Alaina, liked laying on top of her, giving her his cars and chips and whatever else he thought she needed. =) Alaina wasn't sure what to think, she looked up at me like; what is going on, who is this smooshing me?!! She isn't use to the pile ups and bigger kids. It was cute. It was soo nice seeing them. Can't wait for your next visit with BabyBoy#3, Alaina will be the one doing the pile ups then! :)

Tiernan said Cheese! everytime he seen the camera, Konrad on the other hand would move everytime I thought I had him in the picture, you can see his arm in the left one.

On The Move!!

Well Alaina just turned 7 months yesterday and has been up to ALOT the last month! She has been slowly starting to crawl for about three weeks now. She started by getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. The last week or so she has been doing what we call the bunny hop mixed with the army crawl and scooting. The last couple days she's has been taking two small steps and then flops down on her belly. She tries to sit up from her belly too. She still rolls alot to help get where she wants to go. There's no leaving her in a room alone anymore! Yesterday she decided she is a big girl and pulled herself up on her knees to get a toy out of her toy bucket! I couldn't believe my eyes. She's going to be walking around furniture before I know it! Here's a couple short videos to show you.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Well the holidays are a crazy busy time for us. I'm just getting a chance to post about it now! Dec 22nd was our first with Auntie Hope and Uncle Rob, then the 23rd at Aunt Candy's with daddy's family, 24th morning at Grandma Peggy's for brunch, then dinner at my Uncle Gary's with my family, 25th morning here, then Grammy's then to Grandpa Ron's with the other half of Daddy's family. The 26th back at Grammy's for dinner, 27th we shopped and relaxed, 28th here with my dad, Grandpa Rob and family, 29th some time to put all our lute away and relax!! 30th here with Jodi, Candy and hubby's. Then the 31st, well New Years! B and I went up town to a Stag and Doe and Miss Alaina slept. Yesterday was a lounging day in our PJ's!! Everyone was spoiled rotten this Christmas and had a wonderful time with all our family and friends amongst the craziness! Alaina's first Christmas was great, some things didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, with pics and videos but some is better than none! Thank you everyone for everything we received this holiday and we hope to see you more in 2007!!!

New Tradition

So we didn't quite make it until Christmas morning. lol We decided that we are going to start our own family christmas tradition. We are going to let Alaina open one gift a night for the whole week leading to christmas morning and then christmas morning will still be her stocking and gifts from santa. So we started last night :?P Daddy and I opened one last night too :?) She's going to be the coolest kid in school being allowed to open a present every night lol. We just can't wait once we know they are all under the tree. Brandon and I decided to each buy presents for Alaina and both be surprised when we help her open them. Half a year old!

I can't believe my little baby is not a little baby anymore! She is a big baby on the go, rolling everywhere and getting her skills down for crawling. She now has 2 teeth too! She's going to keep me busy from now on that's for sure, I need another set of eyes. I was just telling Brandon the other day that I will be back to work tomorrow, at least that's what it feels like, time is going by so fast :?( Daddy has been teaching her things, the one day she decided to do as daddy and stick her tongue out and blow. She can do high five and we are working on waving bye bye.
Well Alaina had her 6 month Dr. appt today and she now weighs 12 lbs 15 oz and is just over 26" long. She had two more shots today too and I swear she is the toughest little girl ever~ she cried for litterally 2 seconds. She's still a bit small for her age so we go back in two months to check her growth pattern, she's happy so he just wants to see her progress. She has had 4 different veggies so far and carrots are her least favourite, (basically chokes on them, lol) and sweet potato seems to be number one. Now we are just eagerly awaiting christmas morning! Those of you that know us well it is very hard for us to wait, we already discussed having our christmas tonight lol. But I want Alaina to start of right so I'm doing my best to hold off lol

Santa, Is that wheelly you?

I don't know if you guys have seen it or not, but Alaina loves the Leons commercial with the little girl talking to Santa. She always stops whatever she's doing and watches it. It's cute. So today we took her to the mall and had her first picture taken with Santa! She was perfect as usual :?) We couldn't decide so here's the two we got :?P We also took her to see the Dresden Santa Claus parade for the first time tonight, it was soo cold and the parade had big gaps so we only stuck around for half of it. She liked all the colours though, next year will be more fun with her.

Girl's Christmas

Well this was Alaina's first girl's christmas party with me. Every year the girl's from highschool get together and have a great time. Here's our group pic with all the new baby girls! Mataya DeCook was there too but unable to be in the pic. Hard to believe 6 years ago when we started our annual party we were all single and just starting to settle down, now almost all of us are married and have kids!

Well I must pat myself on the back, I am getting good at this photography thing! It only takes me 200 pics until I feel like a got a few good ones but hey. I end up with alot of good ones once I load them and edit some :?) She was a bit difficult this time taking them, she was rolling non stop!
