New Tradition

So we didn't quite make it until Christmas morning. lol We decided that we are going to start our own family christmas tradition. We are going to let Alaina open one gift a night for the whole week leading to christmas morning and then christmas morning will still be her stocking and gifts from santa. So we started last night :?P Daddy and I opened one last night too :?) She's going to be the coolest kid in school being allowed to open a present every night lol. We just can't wait once we know they are all under the tree. Brandon and I decided to each buy presents for Alaina and both be surprised when we help her open them. So here are a few pics of our first night with our new tradition

Half a year old!

I can't believe my little baby is not a little baby anymore! She is a big baby on the go, rolling everywhere and getting her skills down for crawling. She now has 2 teeth too! She's going to keep me busy from now on that's for sure, I need another set of eyes. I was just telling Brandon the other day that I will be back to work tomorrow, at least that's what it feels like, time is going by so fast :?( Daddy has been teaching her things, the one day she decided to do as daddy and stick her tongue out and blow. She can do high five and we are working on waving bye bye.
Well Alaina had her 6 month Dr. appt today and she now weighs 12 lbs 15 oz and is just over 26" long. She had two more shots today too and I swear she is the toughest little girl ever~ she cried for litterally 2 seconds. She's still a bit small for her age so we go back in two months to check her growth pattern, she's happy so he just wants to see her progress. She has had 4 different veggies so far and carrots are her least favourite, (basically chokes on them, lol) and sweet potato seems to be number one. Now we are just eagerly awaiting christmas morning! Those of you that know us well it is very hard for us to wait, we already discussed having our christmas tonight lol. But I want Alaina to start of right so I'm doing my best to hold off lol

Santa, Is that wheelly you?

I don't know if you guys have seen it or not, but Alaina loves the Leons commercial with the little girl talking to Santa. She always stops whatever she's doing and watches it. It's cute. So today we took her to the mall and had her first picture taken with Santa! She was perfect as usual :?) We couldn't decide so here's the two we got :?P We also took her to see the Dresden Santa Claus parade for the first time tonight, it was soo cold and the parade had big gaps so we only stuck around for half of it. She liked all the colours though, next year will be more fun with her.

Girl's Christmas

Well this was Alaina's first girl's christmas party with me. Every year the girl's from highschool get together and have a great time. Here's our group pic with all the new baby girls! Mataya DeCook was there too but unable to be in the pic. Hard to believe 6 years ago when we started our annual party we were all single and just starting to settle down, now almost all of us are married and have kids!

Well I must pat myself on the back, I am getting good at this photography thing! It only takes me 200 pics until I feel like a got a few good ones but hey. I end up with alot of good ones once I load them and edit some :?) She was a bit difficult this time taking them, she was rolling non stop! And with Daddy having his shoulder in a sling, I was pretty much on my own again. Good thing she's a good baby and has patience with me :?P Here are a few of my favourites. Enjoy!!

Pearly White

Alaina has cut her first tooth! Auntie Bailee found it when they were playing this past weekend. I didn't believe her at first. I thought she was teething last week, it looks like the one next to it won't be long either. She was soo good, I didn't really notice :?)

Celebration of Lights

We took Alaina to see the lights in Sarnia two weekends ago. It was a bit chilly but I think she enjoyed it.

Canadian baby photographers

Well here is Alaina's picture from the Canadian baby photographers that was taken a month ago. I mentioned in an earlier post that she was super tired that day and I doubted they got alot of good shots. Well they did better than I thought but wasn't good enough for me to spend $200 on their cheapest package! I took my free 5x7 and ran! They took 13 poses total.

5 Months

Alaina just turned 5 Months last Thursday. She's a big 12 lbs 6.4 oz and 25" long. She's still gaining on the same pattern she has been for the last couple months. We shall see if that changes now that she's been on cereal for a week.

First Professional Family Pic

Well we finally got our first professional family pictures done at Walmart a couple weeks ago. They turned out great! We sat down, Alaina smiled and we left! One picture and finito! They tried to get us to take other poses but I learned my lesson from last time :?P

Mmmmmmm

Fooood! Alaina has been staring at us when we eat for at least 2 weeks now. The other day when I was eating nachos and she was rudely staring (lol), I decided to put one near her mouth to see what she would do, well she opened up wide! So the next day I put some milk on a spoon to see if she would take it and she put the whole spoon in her mouth twice with no problems. So I waited for a morning when B would be home so we could feed her cereal for the first time. Watch the video of our little sweetie becoming more of a big girl :?) So sad the things that excite us now lol

Future Waterloo Student?

Daddy had to go to Cambridge and Waterloo on Monday, so we joined him and went and visited Carm and Aunt Bailee. All the girls in Auntie's Rez loved Alaina.

Early Christmas??

We went to Windsor with daddy yesterday and ended up shopping. While at the mall I asked B if we should have Alaina's picture taken with Santa? Turns out Santa had the day off, must be making toys. Next thing I know daddy is using his display, plops Alaina down in the fake snow! Now I wish Alaina was wearing something more wintery and less pink :?P

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween Everyone!

We hope you had as much as we did. Alaina was definitely out for the tricks and not the treats this year :) We went to Great Nans, Grammy and Grandpa Blommaert's, Grandma and Papa Coles' and Aunt Erin and Uncle Nate's. Although she did get treats from her grandmas, an outfit and stuffed lamb! B and I got some candy and we weren't even dressed up :?P

I'm doomed!

My little angel is into cars! Whenever they are on T.V, her eyes are glued! You don't hear a peep out of her. Of course Daddy is in his glory! I guess it could be a good thing, I don't really want her to have barbie parts all over the place, little cars are much easier to clean up! lol

Congratulations Karen, Kent & Grace Hamilton on your new baby girl, Sadie Elizabeth! We look forward to meeting her! I'm so glad Alaina has so many friends close to her age! Spoiled =)

I was taking yet another pic of Alaina and realized she is spoiled! She has so many toys our house is cluttered! You have seen the ones of her in her bouncy chair, swing and jolly jumper. Now here are some in her hop n' pop, bumbo seat and on her playmat! She also has a travel swing that has lights and music that she loves. Not to mention all her little toys! Good thing she needs them all for her development lol. We don't plan on this sticking as she gets older :?P

Fall Fun

We had a busy day of picture taking. :) Canadian Baby Photographers were here today and after they left Alaina and I had fun taking pics outside in the leaves. It was such a beautiful day, I have been waiting for a day like today to come for weeks! Alaina was soo busy looking around at everything, it sure was hard trying to set her up, get her attention and take a pic at once all by myself! However I ended up with more good ones than I thought, over 40 lol. I hope I can get some family ones done soon too. I hope you like them as much as we do.

4 Month Stats

Well we just got back from the doctor. Alaina is 11 lbs 14oz, and just over 24" long. She's gaining just under a pound a month and an inch a month. She's a bit small for her age, which is ok, we are getting alot of use out of her 3 month clothes :?) She had her 4 month shots too, the first one didn't even phase her, then the second one made her cry for about 10 secs after, she really surprised me! Such a tough girl!

Jumping video

Here is a video of Alaina in her Jolly Jumper for the first time. She isn't quite jumping but she's having fun moving around. I still haven't had a chance to get a video of her rolling over, she's still doing it when I'm not around the camera. Don't think you guys will find it as exciting as I do anyway lol.

4 Months

Well here are Alaina's four months pics. The jean dress is her first thanksgiving outfit. The other pics are after we got home from her first Brigden fair visit. We don't have any pics at the fair because she slept the whole time we were there! She will have more fun next year :?) I will have the stat updates next week.

Friends

Well, Alaina has had a few playdates with a couple friends. She doesn't do much playing wth them yet, it's more of a mom gabfest! lol Now she has another girlfriend to visit, Madelyn Metcalfe! Congrats Kristy and Del, we can't wait to meet her!
