Easter

We decorated for Easter about 2 weeks before and the week before we coloured eggs. I bought a princess dye kit that came with crowns, stands, stickers and much more. Alaina was pretty eager to get started. Both girls wore their crowns around, still are some days. We didn't let Alivia participate in the egg decorating, she was happy watching from her chair though. It will be interesting next year for sure. The easter bunny hid eggs for both girls. We told Alaina all the eggs on the floor were for Alivia and the rest were hers. Alivia's were empty but Alaina's had one mini marshmallow in them which she remembered the Easter Bunny did for her last year!!! She had talked about it everytime we talked about Easter so I had to do it again. She got some books, rubber boots and Kerplunk game. She was pretty excited, her books were her favourite. Alivia got books, she doesn't need much as this age :)

Alivia's First Birthday!!

We celebrated Alivia's First Birthday on Sunday, March 22nd at the Czech Hall in Dresden. I was bad at getting organized and invitations out :( Since we were so busy with the move and getting settled, I didn't even get everyone's invitation out to them. Thankfully most people were able to make it still :) The week before I actually started planning. I went with a garden bug theme and made her a caterpillar cupcake cake. Everything went according to plan. She was the perfect birthday girl, with the exception of not digging in and making a huge mess with her cake. To no surprise though, her sister didn't either on her first birthday. Her turning one didn't seem to hit me as hard as it did for Alaina. I don't know if it was because I was soo busy with the house or because she is baby #2 or because I wasn't back to work yet, or maybe it's because she's so small she still looks like a baby :) I think she will always be my baby and that will be that. Thanks again to everyone that helped me and for all the lovely, thoughtful gifts. Words can't express how grateful we are for everyone in our lives.

That wasn't so bad! :P

11 Months

I'm so far behind on blogging and so much as happened that I can't even remember what I should be writing for Alivia's 11 month. We got our new house a week before her 11 month and worked there everyday for 3 weeks. So it's all a blur. She started clapping and would 'sign' milk and all done, sometimes. She was walking like a pro and would chase her sister around. She loved to wonder down to her sisters room and see what she could get into. Alaina started shutting her door lol It didn't take long before Alivia realized she could push the door open most of the time :P They started to play a bit more together once Alivia was walking good. She is go go go, doesn't like to sit and watch anything even if Alaina is. She is a very happy and content child. She will entertain herself for hours. :)

Family Day

We took the girls to the Wheel's Inn the day before Family Day. It was sooo busy there! Alaina had a blast going through the Zig Zag Maze and on the rides. She just ran and ran and ran. We had a hard time keeping up to her by the time we got out of the maze, she would be around the corner climbing into the next tube! We took turns going in with her since it's so hard on the knees! Poor Alivia was a bystander, didn't seem to mind though! It was a good afternoon :)

Alivia got balloons to play with from one of the workers :)
