Dresden Exhibition

On Friday I walked up with the girls to watch the parade with Grammy and Nanny. Alivia talked and smiled almost the entire time. Alaina was mesmerized, and a little unsure of the fire truck sirens. She especially liked the clown that walked by with stickers :) On Sunday Morning we took the girls to the Dresden Exhibition fair grounds. We arrived a bit early, the rides weren't running for a couple more hours! So we walked around the exhibits, back to the small animal zoo and the saddle club and watched the horse show. We still had some time to spare so we went over to the track kitchen for an early lunch. We got back, Brandon took Alaina through the Mardi-Gras maze (mirrors and a slide at the end, woo hoo) and on the spinning strawberries. He said she loved the strawberries, screaming faster, and wanted to go on them again! She was too small for the bikes that go around. We were very disappointed this year, it was sooo small, seems like every year it gets smaller and smaller. Alaina had fun, that's the main thing.

4 Months :(

Alivia turned 4 months on July 24th, already. She went for her shots this past Monday morning. Once again she just cried for a few seconds and was all good :) She weighed 12lbs and is 23 3/4" long. Her weight gain has slowed down and she has been waking quite a bit through the night for almost a month so he said to start her on some cereal. She is soo active that it doesn't surprise me that she needs some extra nourishment. We busted out the hop n' pop and jolly jumper on the weekend to help satisfy her need to stand and bounce alot too! We started cereal that night and she loved it. She was grabbing my hand and the spoon and shoving it in her mouth LOL We started out in the bumbo seat, but I couldn't get her to keep her head up and fingers out of her mouth, so we moved to the bouncy chair and succeeded. She has found her tongue and is sticking it out non-stop! You will see in most of the pictures. Which means we get french kisses now lol. She has also been playing with her toes while I'm changing her butt and just today I seen she finally realized she could reach down and pull them up on her own. So I'm sure that means she will be eating them often like her sister did :P

Playdates again :)

On Friday morning, the girls and I went to visit the Howe Family. Alaina had a blast playing dress up with the girls. Jackie, Jack, Alivia and I just gabbed and took pictures :) I didn't get as many as I should have, big surprise lol Then this past Monday I hosted a playdate here. Melissa & Taryn, Candy & Lexi, Hope & Zach, Danielle & Kale, Shannon & Jarvis all came! It was soo nice to see them all and how everyone is doing. It was quite entertaining, especially Kale trying to molest the girls LOL We look forward to the next one, hopefully Alaina won't sleep through it all again, I had to wake her up at 4:50 after going down at 1:30!!

Busy week of playing

Last week we had a busy week with friends. Thursday morning we went and visited Candy and Lexi who were hanging out at Christal's with the girls. Alaina played great with Jackie and Jordie. So great that she asked to play with Jordie and Lexi just yesterday :) Alivia and Lexi had fun napping at the same time lol. It was a good visit. Then Friday morning we headed over to Melissa's. Alaina and Mataya play great together. Taryn had fun exploring around Alivia and of course, they napped at the same time :P Alaina was wore right out, I had to wake her from a 3 hour nap at 5pm! We forgot to take pictures until we were leaving and of course there was no getting them all to cooperate, so next time :) Then on Saturday Timeka showed up for another quick surprise visit! She was in town for her cousins wedding. This time I just snapped a quick one of Alaina with the boys in the toy room. And then, her Coles' cousins came by after supper, it was a quick play since Alaina was ready for bed after all that excitement!! Lot of fun was had :)

Jordie had already left when we thought about getting the cameras out :( Candy got some really cute ones of just Lexi and Alivia, I'll try to post when she emails them :)
Don't they look cute in the suits :)
Alaina climbing out of the playpen. She goes to get stuff that she can't reach and she thinks her or her sister needs. I always get her climbing back out since I tell her she's too big and to get out, and I don't want her to see me take a picture because I think it's cute lol And the other picture of Alaina sharing her couch and baby since she wanted her sisters baby :)

Swimming

We took Alivia swimming for the first time last week in the neighbours pool. The water was nice but the air had cooled off a bit after supper, which is the best time for us to take her since the pool is shaded from the sun. She didn't seem to mind it, unless you tried putting her in the water more and it was a bit chilly for her at first. She lasted at least 30mins so I think it's safe to say she will go again :)

Greenview Aviaries 2008

A couple of Sunday's ago, we met Papa & Grandma Coles with the girls for a day of fun at Greenview Aviaries :) We went around and seen all the animals first. Alaina didn't want to stop and get too close to the smaller animals, I think it had something to do with being naptime :P She really enjoyed seeing the big animals though. Then we had a picnic and took turns playing with her on the play equipment and the splash pad. She wasn't too keen on staying in the water, a bit chilly I think. She wanted daddy to take her down the big slide, over and over again! Alivia slept and ate and looked around a little bit, typical baby stuff lol. All and all it was a great day together :)

Bumbo Seat

Well, the girls, (yep, both of them!) love the Bumbo Seat :) Alivia had her first haircut in it yesterday! Alaina was over a year old by the time she had her first hair cut! I forgot to do the before pictures. I trimmed around her ears, she was scratching at them, and the back was past her shoulders, all different lengths! Some wild hair lol

Alivia's Buddy

Alivia is blessed to have alot of friends close to her age, through her mommies friends, just like her sister. But this one is the closest of all. Cyntasha is only 12 days older :) This is Timeka's little girl, baby number 3 and the last one, so she says :P They came for a short visit last week, was a nice last minute surprise. This is their second playdate so far, they sure had fun together LOL Her older brother is only 6 weeks younger than Alaina, sure would be nice if they lived closer to us!!!

Sisterly Love :)

Alaina is really starting to show her love for Alivia now :) When Alivia wakes up from her nap, Alaina runs to the playpen saying, "I coming sister" Or "what's the matter sister, you want mommy, ok" It's SOOOO cute! She rubs her head and holds her hand sometimes too. When Alaina gets up from her nap or I get home from somewhere with Alivia, Alaina asks, "where's sister mom?" Just today when I laid her down, she heard Alivia crying downstairs and asked if she could go see her sister Reeva, it made my heart melt :)
Alivia is really starting to be a fun baby. She can make the motorboat noise with her mouth, she wants to be pulled up to a standing position from sitting, but is only strong enough for a few secs. She is rolling ALOT, she's waking herself up, that's not fun for me, especially at night!! She's starting to show more interest in some toys now, I'm going to try her in the bumbo chair later today. I think Alaina is going to have soo much fun with her sister soon :)

Sharing, awwww :)

Just hanging out, lol
